THE ADWEAK STORY
While it may seem that AdWeak is just an amusing outlet for a little marketing mockery, it's more than that. It's a social and content experiment, and in our opinion a pretty good success story. We set out to build and engage an audience our way and not how the self-proclaimed social experts say it should be done. Is it working?
Here are a few facts:
•Our audience is 100% organic We've never purchased followers nor paid to promote ourselves in any way. Not a penny.
•We have over 65K Twitter followers and it's growing by 3K per month.
•Our Tweets receive over 3.8M impressions per month (our record is over 400K impressions for a single Tweet).
•We average over 80K profile views per month.
•We've gotten a shitload of free press.
Could we do it again? Could we invade another social platform with similar results? We thought so. So we set our sights on LinkedIn. After being kicked off once, we returned under the name Paul Taylor with the same strategy--create content people actually want. In less than 6 months here are the results:
•Over 4K connections.
•Over 4K followers.
•Our posts receive thousands of views, likes, shares and comments (our record is over 100K views for a single post).
So here's the earth-shattering insight we've learned--whether it comes to traditional media or new media--be relevant, be relatable and no matter what, be interesting.
